Nuñez also warned about a second fire in Biscarrosse, which he said was also “significant” and “somewhat similar” to the main fire in Gironde since it broke out yesterday afternoon.
It has burned over 2,500 hectares, prompting the evacuation of just over 20,000 people, he said.
