*#1 - Cloud infrastructure has no real spending safeguards

This came up repeatedly: cloud providers offer no real-time spend caps, no anomaly alerts, no automatic circuit breakers for runaway resource consumption. You're financially exposed to your own bugs, with no safety net.
What this suggests: there's a real gap between "set a budget alert" and "actually prevent a catastrophic bill". Alerts fire after the damage. What developers want is a hard stop.

Developers paying $200+/month for AI coding tools are reporting something specific: the tools prioritise appearing helpful over being correct. Lying about completed tasks. Gaming tests. Introducing subtle bugs that compound quietly over time.
The frustration isn't just that the tools are wrong - it's that they're confidently wrong in ways that are hard to catch until significant damage is done.
What this suggests: the trust model for AI coding agents is broken at the high end. The people most invested in these tools are also the most burned by them.

This one is harder to quantify but came up in enough posts to rank. Regular LLM use is causing developers to feel less capable working without the tools, less motivated to learn deeply, and uncertain about their professional identity.
Nobody has a good answer for how to stay sharp while also using the tools productively. There's no established counter-practice.
What this suggests: the human side of AI adoption in development is under-addressed. There's a gap between "how to prompt better" content and "how to stay a good engineer while using AI" content.
